= Site characteristics =

The '''Danau Sentarum–Betung Kerihun Corridor''' is a forested landscape in Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. It connects two important protected areas: [[Danau Sentarum National Park]], known for its swamp and peat forest, and [[Betung Kerihun National Park]], characterized by upland and hill forests. The corridor itself plays a crucial ecological role in ensuring connectivity between these parks for Northwest Bornean orangutans (''Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus''), enabling gene flow and long-range movement across different habitat types. The combined area offers a range of elevation (mostly 0–500 m), slope gradients, and riverine features that support diverse vegetation, making it a suitable habitat for orangutans in various ecological zones (Prayogo et al. 2014).

|-
|1 Residential & commercial development
|1.1 Residential areas
|Present (unknown severity)
|Orangutans were reportedly seldom present within 0–3,000 meters of villages, and this is due to their closeness to human settlements (Prayogo et al. 2014).
|Ongoing (2014)
|-
|2 Agriculture & aquaculture
|2.1 Annual & perennial non-timber crops
|Present (unknown severity)
|Certain ares of the site have been converted into agricultural plantations (Prayogo et al. 2014).
|Ongoing (2014)
|-
|4 Transportation & service corridors
|4.1 Roads & railroads
|Present (unknown severity)
|The presence of road development has been reported, with roads hindering orangutan movement and being linked to illegal logging, noise pollution, and the conversion of forests along their edges (Prayogo et al. 2014).
|Ongoing (2014)
|-
|5 Biological resource use
|5.3 Logging & wood harvesting
|Present (unknown severity)
|In some forest areas within the site, illegal logging has been reported, leading to major habitat changes that drove orangutans away due to reduced size, degraded quality, and disrupted movement paths (Prayogo et al. 2014).
|Ongoing (2014)
|}
