Site characteristics

The sacred forest of Guibobly is a 90-year-old heritage site covering 22 hectares. According to the villagers, this forest is home to 4 chimpanzees, which disturb the peace and quiet of local residents. This sacred forest is infiltrated by its residents for the creation of agricultural plantations, hunting and the cutting of various species. The forest is located to the west in the village of Guibobly, ten minutes from Bloléquin, the departmental capital (Soiret pers. comm. 2025).
